I cannot think of a place that does more to make you feel at home. Overall the living experiences here at Quincy University are above par. Obviously I’d be lying to say that everyone enjoyed their stay because that just doesn’t happen, but the ones who do not, find another dorm or room that suits them better. I have known people who have lived in each of the specified places, and almost all of them have had positive experiences. Besides the walkway it is by far the most convenient feature of the building.

I almost forgot to mention that the building has an elevator that takes you to all seven floors plus the basement. I loved my experience at Friars so much that I decided to stay for my junior year as well. I always joked around with my friends that if it had a cafeteria at the bottom I’d never have to walk outside. This allows the residents to stay warm during the winter and cold during the beginning and end of the year when walking to their classes. It stands as one of the tallest buildings on campus and possibly one of the greatest features of the entire dorm is the walkway that is connected to the main building of Francis. The entire campus is Internet connected and the Friars dorm is no different. Each room has two sections one with a sink, dresser, and closet and the other with the bed and desk. Friars Hall is the honors dorm on campus and requires a 3.0 for a bid into the dorm. This past year I was fortunate enough to get a room in Friars Hall. The place was kept clean by a staff of people who are hired by the university and still maintain the building now. This means that everyone has their own room. Plus, when I lived there almost everyone had a roommate but now Padua houses only singles. To show you how quickly things can change at Quincy University, Padua Hall is now coed by floor and this coming year all four floors will be open to students. At the time this was an all male dorm and only housed people on the first two floors. Other places to live include campus housing, and the campus apartments known as Woods. The dorms are Padua, Garner, Centennial, the honor’s dorm Friars, and Willer Hall, which is made up of suites.

Quincy University has four main dormitories where a number of the students live. Picking one that suited me was a tough decision as a freshman, and it made it even more difficult when I really didn’t know much about any of the residence halls. There are a variety of places to live as a student. In fact, Quincy University has many different places to live while attending, and the experiences I have had while living in the dorms is something that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I have lived in two different dorms over the past two years but those are not the only dorms on campus.
